Gather your friends and family and enjoy an amazing range of outdoor activities at Winston Castle!
Are you looking for a historic place that can do it all? Winton Castle is a patch of the Scottish countryside, less than half an hour away from Edinburgh, partly made up of farmland and woodland, with the mighty castle lying at the heart of the estate. The castle’s history dates all the way back to 1480 when it was commissioned to be built by George, 4th Lord Seton. Since then, it has passed through the ownership of many different families and royal figures, as well as been destroyed and restored multiple times!
The estate has a wide range of exciting activities on offer – try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, where you’ll take aim with 24-time Scottish clay shooting champion Billy Gordon. Traverse through different terrains in thrilling 4×4 driving experience and quad biking, travelling through their fantastic woodland course near the castle – this is a great opportunity to test your driving skills and get your adrenaline pumping! The castle hosts the classic highland mini-games, involving up to 300 participants! It includes all the classics such as caber and hay tossing, tug of war, highland dancing and many more traditional activities!
If you want to learn something new, then why not take up the ancient art of Bushcraft? Or, if you want to compete with your friends, then Winton Laser Tag is an immersive experience with multiple game scenarios to enjoy. If you want to make a weekend out of your activities, then there are plenty of accommodation options at the castle – the castle’s historic rooms can sleep up to 16 people, and there are 34 more spaces in their luxury self-catering country houses.
The estate has something for everyone, making for a great family day out, birthday party, stag & hen dos, and more!
