Ireland has a rich heritage when it comes to Viking and Norman settlements, with many of the towns and cities being founded by these groups. One of the best places to learn about this is Reginald's Tower in Waterford City.
This building was originally built by the Viking founders of the city, back in 914 AD. This building would then go on to form a basis for the Viking Triangle settlement within the city. The building was then renovated by the Anglo-Normans, and they added two extra floors. From there, the site was used as the centrepiece for the town’s medieval defensive walls which surrounded the city. So, what are you waiting for?
