Windsurfing on the Isle of Tiree should be added to everyone’s Stack! The island is the perfect location for novice and experienced windsurfers, and the white sand beaches are some of the best in the World. Tiree is home to the annual windsurfing competition – the Tiree Wave Classic (October) and the Tiree Music Festival (July). Wild Diamond Watersports, based at Loch Bhassapol in the Northwest of the Island, offers both RYA courses (Start windsurfing, intermediate and advanced courses) and non-RYA courses for beginners to experts.
Wild Diamond Watersports specialise in providing qualified instruction and hire for windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. You can also hire kayaks and sand yachts. Gott Bay, with over 2.5 miles of stunning sandy beach, is used for the tuition of kitesurfing and sand yachting. With so much to do, you could easily spend a week here and many people do! Getting to Tiree takes around 4 hours by Calmac Ferry from Oban – but for all wind and watersport lovers, this is a really worthwhile trip!
