Experience an aviation museum like no other down in Cornwall! Learn about what it was like to fly these fantastic machines from inside the cockpit with their range of fighter jets and bombers. Their planes date all the way from the 40s all the way to the 80s, including some important aircraft from the first, second and cold war, and the fastest British aircraft ever built – the English Electric lighting! New aircraft are added every year to their fully-functional ex-Royal Air Force Hardened Aircraft Shelter hangar and they regularly have visiting aircraft touch down on the runway meaning there’s never a dull moment during your stay.

Tour their VC10 in-flight refuelling tanker and V-bomber training aircraft and hear stories about the different aircraft from their volunteer guides. For your own flight experience try their simulator and soar around Cornwall for a taste of what it would be like to pilot a Hawker Hunter!

What will I learn at the Aircraft Museum in Cornwall?

At the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre learning doesn't stop outside the planes and they encourage you to get into as many of their planes as possible! You can find the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre right by Newquay airport outside Newquay.

As well as their large collection of accessible aircraft, the museum also houses a collection of over 1,500 model aeroplanes for you to browse as well as a great gift shop with a great range of books for you to choose from if you’re interested in continuing to learn after you leave. They also have a lovely café where you can stop for refreshments at any time during your stay. With such a unique approach to learning the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre is well worth a visit whether you’re an aviation enthusiast looking to step into the past and sit where fighter pilots once sat, or looking for a unique and interesting family day out!
