Come down to Sidmouth to learn about the donkey sanctuary’s work and meet some of their adorable rescues. The donkey sanctuary is a beautiful organisation with centres all over the country. They aim to rescue as many donkeys as possible from a life of suffering and mistreatment, housing them in their sanctuaries and rehoming them. They also work with communities that rely on donkeys for manual labour and educate people about how to best care for their donkeys.

It’s also a great place for a family day out with their new family activity trail where you can your kids can learn all about donkeys with their A-Z fact hunt around the sanctuary. It’s the perfect thing to keep your little ones busy as they run around and explore the refuge finding all the facts they can!
