Hovertravel first opened its doors in July 1965, and it’s been running ever since! They leased two 38 seats SRN6 Hovercraft from The British Hovercraft Corporation in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, and off they went! They used to only run a seasonal summer service for customers on the Isle of Wight and the south of England, but the experience turned out to be so popular and the number of visitors and tourists seeking out the experience grew to the extent that the service now stays open for the whole year, so feel free to pop by anytime!
