Book a Gin Tour or Distill your own Gin at Darnley’s just outside St Andrews

Come and taste the delights of Darnley’s Gin Distillery & Gin School in the idyllic Fife countryside! The gin cottage is a hidden gem located behind Kingsbarns Whisky Distillery where you can book tastings, tours and even distil your own gin!

In the Discover Darnley’s tour, you’ll be taken around the Darnley’s Gin cottage for a guided tasting, talk and tour. Your guide will go into the history of Darnley’s Gin and the brewing process used to cultivate their award-winning spirit ( you’ll even get to meet ‘Dorothy’, their 350-litre copper still responsible for their aromatic gins). Feeling parched? The tour includes a tasting of 3 bespoke gins. Your tour ticket also includes a £2 discount in our visitor centre shop on a 70cl bottle of gin or whisky.

Where can we book a gin tour?

There are two types of tours you can choose from in the Kingsbarns distillery - There's the Discover Darnley's Tour and the Darnley's Gin School tour which is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Head on over to the Darnley's Gin website to book the tour of your choice!

If you’re after something a little more hands-on, book a Darnley’s Gin School tour and become a trainee distiller – you even get to create your own unique bottle of gin! Once you have an introduction to gin making, you can tour the large range of botanicals (some are sourced from their very own herb garden!) to add to your recipe. While you wait for your gin to distil, your guide will lead you on a tour of Darnley’s Distillery and offer a tasting session to anyone who’d like to sample some of their fine gin. Once your gin is ready, you can take it home with you! This tour includes a £5 discount on any 70cl bottle of gin in our visitor centre shop.
