Sand sculpting is an ancient art form that dates all the way back to 4000 BC in Egypt! The total weight of the sculptures at Sandworld total at 2000 tonnes, or nearly 1300 cars!
The sand sculpture park showcases sand sculptures crafted from Weymouth’s natural asset: its golden sand. Weymouth sand is 0.15mm grain size – that’s only marginally bigger than silt, making it great for sculpture!
