The Museum of Scottish Industrial Life

If you wan’t to learn about Scotland’s rich industrial history there is no better place than the museum in Summerlee! Summerlee used to be one of the most important metalworks in Scotland so even the ground yur standing on there is rich in industrial history. They have many exhibitions making it perfect for a family day out if you want to get a little way out of Glasgow.

Where is the Musuem of Scottish Industrial Life?

The Museum of Scottish Industrial Life is just east of Glasgow in Coatbridge and is a short walk from the Coatbridge Sunnyside Station!

They have some really exciting exhibits that can keep people of all ages engaged and interested! The have a reconstructed mine shaft that has guided tours so can learn about the hard work and living conditions of the people who worked there. They also have working machinery from the era, a gallery of artwork from the time, and Scotland’s only vintage working tram! There’s lots to see and do at the Museum of Scottish Industrial Life and for a free day out in Glasgow you can’t do much better!
