Are you an avid history buff? If so, make sure to visit Inveraray Jail. Where many Scots were tried, sentenced, and spent their lives. Located at the top of main street and placed in the middle of the church square in Inverary town centre. These facilities boast free audio tours available in six different languages, to bring every guest as close as possible to a prisoner’s experience. With true hyper-personal stories, visitors can see what life was like for the many men, women, and children who spent their lives here.

How much is admission for the tours at Inveraray Jail?

Children under 5 go free, with adult and student tickets starting from £9.95.

Tours start with the detailing of Torture and death within the walls of the jail. From there, visitors are brought through the Courtroom, Old and new jail and then to the prison grounds and airing yards.
