Ever wanted to try making your own dishes? London Green Wood has got just the activity for you! Dedicate a whole day to learning how to use an axe, an adze and gouges to make your own bowls with wood from a tree grown in the very garden you find yourself in. This is a perfect activity to try out solo as you immerse yourself in this carving experience, making the vision of your own picnic bowl come true! Of course, this activity is also fun to try with friends as you get to keep your bowls to go alongside the new memories you made on the day!

Where can I try bowl carving in London?

Head on over to Hackney City Farm Yard in London, and spend a whole day exploring and learning a whole new set of skills!

After you finish your workshop in the garden, why not take a wander through the park to relax and wind down? After being hard at work for seven hours, you will most certainly have built up quite the appetite and there’s no shortage of wonderful restaurants to try out, with the Laughing Heart and Stringray Globe Café nearby just to name a few! If you’re in town for a couple more days, there are plenty more creative activities you can have a look at. It’s time to get funstacking!

  • £80 per person – 7-hour workshop (workshop is outside)
  • Beginners are welcome, but this is an intense and physically demanding course; the ‘Make a Spatula’ workshop or the ‘Make a Spoon’ workshop is recommended prior to this course
  • Must be 18 and over to participate
  • You get to keep the wooden bowl you make!
