Tours at Cruachan Power Station

This is the perfect educational, yet spectacularly entertaining day out for families and everyone else alike! This fantastic exhibition and visitor centre explains to visitors how exactly they convert the power of water into electricity. The centre has experienced guides who will bring visitors to the mountain by bus from the visitor centre, then you will be brought inside the mountain and inside the power station. Here you will learn all about the history of the station, but most importantly, how they manage to make 440w of power in just 2 minutes!

When inside, you will be escorted into the gallery, where the backdrop of their impressive machine hall and 4 turbines will leave you in awe. This facility is perfect for children and adults alike, aiming to educate all on how turning water into electricity works. Tours are completely free, however, they need to be booked in advance. Prices start from £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children. So why not come on down, take in the fantastic scenery and delve deep into this mountain, who knows it could inspire some future engineers!
