Tours at Glengyle Distillery
Are you a Whisky lover? Or do you love a fascinating day out at Distilleries? If so, then you should visit Glengoyne Distilleries, home of the famous Kilkerran Single Malt Whisky. This Whisky has a fascinating history, going back to the 1800s! This Distillery was founded by William Mitchell, who was the son of none other than Archibold Mithcell, the founder of the nearby Springbank Distillery.
How can I find Glengyne Distillery?
The Distillery is located in Campbelltown, which is heavily serviced by Bus, Ferry and road links. Buses run from Glasgow Buchannan Bus station, on a regular basis.
The building fell on some hard times throughout history, with the production of Whisky ceasing from the building up until the year 2000, when production of Kilkerran started. There are multiple different tours that the company offers. These include the Kilkerran tour, Springbank tour, and their Warehouse tasting. These tours range in price depending on their duration and experience, they start from £10 to £35. The history of these buildings is a sight in themselves, with the restoration being the company’s most impressive feat. So what are you waiting for?
